Text PDFs vs scanned PDFs

This converter works best on text-based PDFs — documents that were created digitally in Word, InDesign or a similar tool and then exported as PDF. Scanned PDFs (photographs of paper documents) are image files and cannot be converted with full formatting. The converter will extract any embedded text it finds, but a scanned document may produce plain unformatted text.
