Advertising disclosure
Kaeltripton.com earns money in several ways. Some of those involve commercial relationships with the companies we write about. This page explains exactly how, and what it means for our editorial.

The short version
We use several ways to make money. Most pages on kaeltripton.com carry advertising. Some pages contain affiliate links where we earn a commission if you buy after clicking. We also sell editorial sponsorship to selected partners, and we run a paid directory of FCA-authorised firms.
What never happens: our editorial recommendations are not for sale. We do not let advertisers, sponsors, or affiliate partners change what we say about products. Our rankings reflect our independent judgment, not commission rates.
If a piece of content is sponsored or contains advertorial copy, we label it clearly. If you ever spot anything on the site that looks like it crosses our editorial line, please tell us at support@kaeltripton.com.
How we make money
Kaeltripton.com is operated by Kael Tripton Ltd, a UK limited company (Companies House No. 17177071) registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office under registration ZC135439. The site is funded by four revenue streams:
1. Display advertising
We display third-party advertising across most pages using Google Ad Manager (network code 21801606218), which serves direct advertiser campaigns, programmatic advertising via Google AdSense, and other ad networks. These adverts are clearly labelled as advertising. We do not control which specific advertisers appear in programmatic slots. We do block categories that conflict with our editorial standards.
2. Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link and complete a qualifying purchase or sign-up with the merchant, kaeltripton.com may receive a commission. This costs you nothing extra.
We use several affiliate networks and direct merchant programmes, including (but not limited to):
- Amazon Associates UK — As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. Our Amazon Associates tracking ID is
kaeltripton21-21. - Commission Junction (CJ) — Property ID 101762356.
- Skimlinks — automatic affiliate link conversion across thousands of supported merchants.
- Awin, Impact, Partnerize, and other UK affiliate networks — used for specific advertiser programmes where direct relationships make sense.
- Direct merchant affiliate programmes — some brands run their own affiliate schemes outside the networks.
Affiliate links carry the standard HTML attribute rel="sponsored nofollow noopener" as required by Google's webmaster guidelines and the UK Advertising Standards Authority's disclosure principles.
3. Editorial sponsorship
Selected commercial partners pay a flat monthly fee to appear as Featured Partner placements within specific content clusters or hubs on our site. These placements are clearly labelled "Sponsored" and are delivered through dedicated ad slots managed by Google Ad Manager. Featured Partner placements do not influence our editorial rankings, reviews, or recommendations. Our rate card and sponsor enquiries are at /advertise-with-us/.
4. KFI Directory subscriptions
We operate the Kaeltripton Financial Index (KFI), a paid directory of FCA-authorised firms and other regulated UK business service providers. Firms pay a monthly subscription to enhance their directory listing with verified contact details, service descriptions, and additional visibility. Subscription tiers are listed at /pricing/. KFI Directory listings are separate from our editorial content. Subscription does not affect how firms are written about elsewhere on the site.
How affiliate links affect our editorial
We follow a clear separation between our editorial judgment and our commercial relationships. Specifically:
For FCA-regulated products (insurance, credit cards, mortgages, pensions, ISAs, investments, regulated advice), we do not earn commissions on the specific regulated products we review. Our editorial firewall on regulated finance products is a deliberate position. These categories are monetised through Featured Partner sponsorship and display advertising only.
For non-FCA-regulated products and services (consumer technology, broadband, mobile, business software, energy switching, will writing, travel money, household goods, books, and other consumer products), we may include affiliate links and earn commission on qualifying purchases. Pages in our /compare/ section, and any other page carrying an affiliate disclosure block, fall into this category.
What our editorial does, regardless of how a page is monetised:
- Ranks products by our published review methodology, not by commission rates
- Discloses commercial relationships clearly, in plain English, near where they apply
- Cites primary sources (gov.uk, FCA, Ofgem, ONS, ABI, Bank of England) wherever specific figures appear
- Updates pages periodically and notes a "Last reviewed" date so readers can see content currency
- Refuses requests from advertisers to remove negative product information or change rankings
How prices and product information stay current
Prices, features, and offers on the products we cover change frequently. Where we quote a specific price, we include the date we observed it (for example, "Currently £129.99 on Amazon UK as of 26 May 2026"). The price you see at the time of purchase may differ. We refresh major comparison pages periodically, but readers should always confirm current pricing on the merchant's own site before completing any purchase.
What we will not do
- Hide commercial relationships. Every page that earns through affiliate links, sponsorship, or paid placement carries clear disclosure.
- Promote products we have not researched. Affiliate links appear only on products we have reviewed, compared, or otherwise documented.
- Recommend FCA-regulated financial products on commission. Where we cover regulated finance, we publish editorial reviews without an affiliate revenue link to the products reviewed.
- Mislead readers on price. Quoted prices carry an "as of" date and we do not use language like "cheapest" or "lowest price" that we cannot verify.
- Sell editorial position. No advertiser, sponsor, or affiliate partner can buy a particular ranking, recommendation, or editorial verdict.
