Kael Tripton is funded by clearly labelled advertising and sponsorship. Three labels, each with a fixed meaning. The newsroom decides what is published; commercial partners never do.

What each label means
Funded coverage, editorial control kept
An organisation funds our coverage of a subject area, for example commuter rights, household energy costs or student money. Every article in that desk carries the funder's name. The funder agrees the subject and the period, sees nothing before publication, approves no headlines or conclusions, and cannot ask us to cover or drop a story. Reporting critical of a supporter runs under the same label.
Advertising, controlled by the advertiser
The advertiser controls the message. It is produced outside the newsroom, kept out of our news sections and feeds, never carries our fact-check badge, and is distinguished from editorial by its label and its design.
Display around the articles
Sold directly on our ad server. Advertisers choose page types, not articles, and have no influence on content.

These are the lines that make the labels mean something.
- Editorial coverage, its timing or its prominence
- Placement inside comparisons of FCA-regulated products
- Lead routing or commission on regulated products
- Our analysis sections, which remain the work of the news desk
- Sight or approval of copy before publication
- Removal or softening of a story about a supporter
