What you get
A weekly briefing on UK money: what the Bank of England did, where rates are going, which deals are actually worth taking, and what HMRC, FCA, and Ofgem changed this week. No fluff, no sponsored picks, no affiliate spin.
Kael Tripton is independent UK finance intelligence. We track every base rate move, energy price cap update, tax change, and consumer claim deadline that affects your money. The newsletter distils the week into one short email so you can act on what matters and ignore the rest.

What the briefing covers
- Rates & mortgages. Bank of England base rate moves, what the swap market is pricing in, which lenders moved their fixed deals this week.
- Savings & ISAs. The top easy-access, fixed-rate, and cash ISA rates that are actually still available, not yesterday's bait.
- Tax & salary. HMRC updates, allowance freezes, anything the Treasury changed that affects take-home pay.
- Bills & energy. Ofgem price cap updates, fixed tariff windows, broadband and mobile social tariffs.
- Consumer claims. Section 75, chargeback, FOS rulings, refund deadlines, fine appeals worth fighting.
How we write it
Every figure is pulled from the primary source: gov.uk, the FCA register, the Bank of England, Ofgem, HMRC, the Financial Ombudsman, FSCS, ABI, and ONS. We do not republish press releases. We do not run sponsored stories disguised as guidance. We do not earn affiliate commission on consumer financial products.
When we name a provider, it is because the official register or regulator data places them at the top on the metric that matters: rate, payout ratio, complaint rate, or coverage. When we cannot prove the claim with a primary source, we do not make the claim.
The briefing is written and edited in London. It goes out every Friday at 7:30am UK time.
Who reads it
UK households making real financial decisions. Mortgage holders timing remortgages. ISA savers comparing real APRs. Self-employed people watching the next budget. Expats tracking non-dom and ILR rules. Anyone who would rather read a 5-minute briefing than scroll seventeen tabs.
