What we cover
Announcements from UK public bodies and regulators (DfT, DWP, HMRC, CMA, FCA, Ofgem, UKHSA, local authorities), transport operators and airlines, energy and water companies, banks and insurers, retailers and consumer brands.
The test is one question: does it change what a UK household pays, receives, can claim or should know? If yes, it is news for our readers and we report it.
We do not run product puffery, investor-only announcements, or anything that requires us to recommend a regulated financial product.

The Winter Fuel Payment qualifying week for winter 2026 to 2027 is 21 to 27 September 2026. Eligibility and amount depend on age and circumstances in that week. Letters arrive in October or November 2026, and most payments are made automatically in November or December 2026.
