How we verify On each publication run, we fetch the live scheme page from gov.uk, UKRI or the scheme operator. Key criteria — headline amount, eligibility thresholds, regulatory cut-offs — are matched against the page body. On every publication run, we fetch each scheme's primary source page (gov.uk Content API for HMRC schemes; authoritative pages for UKRI, British Business Bank and scheme operators). Key criteria are matched against the page body using targeted patterns. Any scheme whose data cannot be verified is dropped from the matcher until its source is re-parsed correctly. What does the match percentage actually measure? Each scheme carries a fixed eligibility taxonomy across five dimensions: sector, region, business stage, headcount, and funding purpose. Your answers are scored against each scheme across those dimensions with a weighted formula, then normalised to 0–100. A score is an eligibility indicator, not a probability of approval. Is the matcher free, and what is the catch? The matcher is free to use with no registration required. The matcher ranks permanent UK schemes whose primary source verified on this publication run. Time-limited competitions from the UKRI Funding Finder appear as individual editorial notes under /grants/, and are not ranked in this tool. Can I combine multiple schemes? In most cases, yes. R&D Tax Relief can typically be combined with an Innovate UK grant, for example. State aid limits, de minimis rules and scheme-specific interactions apply — verify each scheme's current position with its own guidance before combining.
