The High Commission of Pakistan in London is Pakistan's principal diplomatic mission in the United Kingdom. It is the Commonwealth equivalent of an embassy and handles visa applications, Pakistani national consular services including NICOP and passport renewals, civil registration, and bilateral governmental affairs. Pakistan maintains a significant diplomatic network across the UK, with consular offices in Manchester, Birmingham and Bradford serving the large British Pakistani community.

Address and Contact

The High Commission of Pakistan is at 35-36 Lowndes Square, Belgravia, London SW1X 9JN. The nearest Underground stations are Knightsbridge (Piccadilly line) and Sloane Square (District and Circle lines). The High Commission does not accept walk-in visa applications - these are processed through TLScontact. General enquiries: +44 (0)20 7664 9200. The High Commission website is phclondon.org.

Pakistan Visa Applications from the UK

British nationals and most other foreign nationals require a visa to visit Pakistan. The primary route is through the Pakistan Online Visa System (POVS) at visa.nadra.gov.pk. The POVS issues a visa letter electronically, which is then stamped as a sticker visa at the Pakistan Visa Application Centre or, for some categories, on arrival at Islamabad, Lahore or Karachi airports. Visa categories available through POVS include tourist visas (single and multiple entry, up to five years for some nationalities), business visas, family visit visas, student visas and employment visas. British nationals of Pakistani origin may be eligible for a Pakistan Origin Card (POC) which grants visa-free travel and other privileges.

TLScontact Pakistan Visa Application Centre

TLScontact manages Pakistan visa applications on behalf of the High Commission. The London application centre handles document submission and biometric collection. Applicants apply online through POVS first, then submit original documents and biometrics at TLScontact. Check tlscontact.com/pak/gb for current centre address, hours and appointment booking.

Pakistani National Services: NICOP and CNIC

The National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) is a NADRA-issued identity document for Pakistani nationals living abroad. It serves as a national identity card and grants certain rights including visa-free entry to Pakistan, the right to open a Pakistani bank account and vote in Pakistani elections from overseas. NICOP and Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) services for Pakistanis in the UK are available through the High Commission in London and through NADRA e-Sahulat facilitation centres located in areas with large Pakistani communities including Bradford, Birmingham, Manchester and Luton. Applications can also be initiated online at id.nadra.gov.pk.

Pakistan Passport Renewal in the UK

Pakistani nationals in the UK renew passports through the High Commission. Online applications are submitted through the NADRA passport portal at online.nadra.gov.pk. Document submission and biometric appointments are then completed at the High Commission in London or at Pakistani consular offices in Manchester or Birmingham. Processing times for standard applications are typically 8 to 12 weeks.

Pakistan Consular Offices Across the UK

Beyond the London High Commission, Pakistani consular services are available at the Consulate General in Manchester (at Curry Mile, Rusholme) and the Pakistan consulate in Birmingham. These offices serve the large Pakistani communities in the North West and Midlands respectively and handle the same consular services as London for residents of those regions.

Civil Registration Services

The High Commission handles registration of births, marriages and deaths involving Pakistani nationals in the UK, issuance of divorce certificates, attestation of Pakistani documents and authentication of UK documents for use in Pakistan. These services require prior appointment and the relevant document fee.
