Barclays announced on 9 September 2026 two reward offers that run from 8 September to 25 November 2026 and are worth up to 750 pounds combined. The first is a cash ISA transfer reward. A customer must transfer at least 10,000 pounds from a non-Barclays ISA through the ISA transfer-in service into a Barclays fixed term single access cash ISA or a Premier triple access flexible cash ISA. The reward is 50 pounds for transfers of 10,000 to 24,999 pounds, 100 pounds for 25,000 to 49,999 pounds, 200 pounds for 50,000 to 99,999 pounds, and 200 pounds for 100,000 pounds or more for current account customers. Premier Current Account customers receive 600 pounds for transfers of 100,000 pounds or more.

The second offer covers life insurance. Barclays current account customers who take out Simple Life Insurance or Life insurance for mortgage protection at a minimum of 10 pounds a month receive 100 pounds. Premier customers taking a policy at a minimum of 12.50 pounds a month receive 150 pounds. The policy must be applied for during the offer period, start within six months, be held for at least 12 months and have all payments made. One reward is available per customer. Barclays cites its Financial Confidence Index, which found that 24 percent of people believe they have adequate life insurance cover.

Conditions and exclusions

To qualify, a customer must hold or open a Barclays current account or Premier account. Premier Current Account eligibility requires a gross annual income of at least 75,000 pounds or at least 100,000 pounds in savings and eligible investments with Barclays. The qualifying ISAs allow transfers in only within 30 days of opening. Excluded from the offer are Lifetime ISAs, Help to Buy ISAs, Innovative Finance ISAs, and existing Barclays ISAs including the Instant Cash ISA, Reward ISA, Fixed Term Flexible ISAs and Investment ISA.

The ISA reward is paid within 60 business days after the offer period ends, and it is not paid if the ISA or current account is closed first. The life insurance reward is paid within three months of meeting all criteria. For the life policy, the 12-month holding requirement means the customer pays 12 months of premiums before the reward is confirmed, so the total premium outlay should be compared against the reward and against the cost of cover available elsewhere. The cash ISA reward depends on the amount transferred and on Premier status, so the same 100,000 pound transfer can attract 200 pounds or 600 pounds depending on the account held.

KT analysis: is 600 pounds worth moving 100,000 pounds

A 600 pound reward on a 100,000 pound transfer is 0.6 percent as a one-off payment. A difference of 0.5 percentage points in the ISA interest rate over a fixed term outweighs that reward, and a fixed term single access ISA limits withdrawals, which matters if the money may be needed. The rate and the term should be checked before the bonus is treated as the deciding factor. For a 100,000 pound transfer attracting 200 pounds, the one-off reward is 0.2 percent, which is smaller still against the effect of the interest rate over the term.

For the life policy, 12 months of premiums at 10 pounds a month is 120 pounds paid for a 100 pound reward, so the policy has to be right on its own terms rather than for the reward. At the Premier level, 12.50 pounds a month is 150 pounds over 12 months for a 150 pound reward. FSCS protection covers 120,000 pounds per person per authorised bank, a limit raised on 1 December 2025. A transfer of 100,000 pounds or more into Barclays alongside an existing Barclays balance therefore needs a check against that ceiling, because protection applies per person per authorised firm rather than per account.

How ISA transfers work

Cash ISA transfers must be made through the provider's transfer service to keep the tax-free status. Withdrawing cash and paying it into a new ISA can lose the ISA status, so the transfer-in route should always be used. Transfers of money from previous years do not affect the 20,000 pound annual ISA allowance, which applies to new subscriptions in the current tax year. Providers are expected to complete cash ISA transfers within 15 working days.

For the Barclays offer, the transfer must be made within 30 days of opening the qualifying ISA, which places a time limit on the process. The reward is paid within 60 business days after the offer period ends, so the money is not received immediately after the transfer completes. Anyone moving a large balance should also consider the FSCS limit of 120,000 pounds per person per authorised firm from 1 December 2025, particularly where an existing balance is already held with the same bank.
